Make an Inner Beauty Journal!

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to be talking about making an inner beauty notebook. It's a great way to embrace and realize your inner beauty, and you can do it all from your own home, without having to reduce your lazy ways or whatever.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Find a notebook that's preferably empty. Make sure it's a notebook that you either really like so that it's pretty or one that you weren't planning on using on something earlier.
  2. Decorate the cover of the notebook and some of the pages if you want using pictures, stickers, pens, sharpies, markers, etc. Make it look not how other people would want it to look like, but instead totally and undeniably you
  3. Find pictures of yourself and people in your life who make you feel beautiful, but them out, and paste them into some pages of the notebook. You can draw borders around them, put stickers around them, and make them look included. Just make sure nobody else is using the pictures before you cut them out and glue them!
  4. Now you're ready to put things inside of your journal. Brainstorm a list of things that make you feel beautiful, things you love to do, things you love about yourself, things you love about them world, things you're thankful of, or anything you want that makes you feel empowered. Once you have a list of lists and things in the list of lists (if that makes sense at all), put those onto separate pages of your journal. Find pictures that reflect the lists or the contents of the lists and put them in. Draw pictures! Make it look pretty.
And that's your inner beauty journal. I guarantee (I've done it many, many times) that when you're feeling down our ugly or whatever and read the journal, you'll feel so much better! You'll feel empowered and beautiful and like nobody can stop you.

MY Definition of Beauty

If you are confident, you are beautiful.
If you are brave, you are beautiful.
If you stand up for yourself and others, you are beautiful.
If you love yourself, you are beautiful.
If you love others, you are beautiful.
If you are kind, you are beautiful.
If you smile, you are beautiful.
If you are passionate, you are beautiful.

It doesn't matter what size you are. It doesn't matter what shape you are. What really matters is what's inside.

I consider people beautiful if they are/can

  1. confident
  2. brave
  3. able to stand up for themselves and others
  4. love themselves
  5. love others
  6. kind
  7. smile
  8. passionate
If you are/can do at least ONE of these things, or something that's good that I forgot, you are BEAUTIFUL. If you are mean and seek glee in hurting people, even if you have the most outer beauty EVER, you, in my eyes, are ugly. But I think that you can change. Not who you are, definitely not that, but how you treat yourself in others.

While I was searching for pictures to post at the end of each post (with sources, of course), I came across some awful things like, "Inner Beauty is for fat people," and "Inner Beauty is for ugly people," and "Inner Beauty is over-rated." These things are UNTRUE and AWFUL. Don't listen to them.

What is our Culture's Definition of Beauty?

"But I think the first real change in women's body image came when JLo turned it butt-style. That was the first time that having a large-scale situation in the back was part of mainstream American beauty. Girls wanted butts now. Men were free to admit that they enjoyed them. And then, what felt like moments later, boom -- Beyoncé brought the leg meat. A back porch and thick muscular legs were now widely admired. And from that day forward, women embraced their diversity and realized that all shapes and sizes were beautiful. Ah ha ha. No. I'm totally messing with you. All Beyoncé and JLo have done is add to the laundry list of attributes women must have to qualify as beautiful. Now every girl is expected to have Caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall butt, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama, and doll boobs. The closest to actually achieving this look is Kim Kardashian, who, as we know, was made by Russian scientists to sabotage our athletes."

(swearing edited out)

That's a pretty accurate description of how we're *supposed* to look, which is totally impossible, unless you're Caucasian, Spanish, British, Asian, Californian, a gym owner, nine-years-old, Michelle Obama, and part doll. Please let me know if this is a pretty good description of your background. If it isn't, well, achieving this is going to take a lot of surgery, makeup, and all sorts of other things. Makeup is fine, but surgery to alter your looks? That's just crazy. Why would you want to change anything about you -- the amazing, epic, awesome you? What? Your nose is too big? Your eyelid droops? Says who? What? It's not like -- can I be hearing you right -- the models in those magazines? Have you ever heard of photoshopping? Next you'll want to get rid of your elbows! Your right arm! All to achieve perfection.

This might just be me rambling. But that, that's just some food for thought. >:D Have a good day.

What is Inner Beauty?

To me, Inner Beauty is the Christmas present. You see the wrapping paper, you're excited, you're happy, it's under the tree, it's wonderful, it's amazing. Notice how a lot of the gifts look the same. Some wrapping paper is kind of ripped, or maybe an ugly color. Maybe it's wrapped badly. Some of the wrapping paper is amazing, perfect. But then you tear open the presents. All of them are wonderful, unique, and heartfelt. It didn't matter what the wrapping paper was. You hardly remember the wrapping paper. The wrapping paper was Outer Beauty. The inside was Inner Beauty.

Maybe that wasn't completely true, because Outer Beauty can be important to. You aren't a bad person if you believe in Outer Beauty, and looking your "best." That's part of who you are. But you need to recognize that you can't judge people by how much mascara they wear, or how pretty their hair is. You need to judge them for who they are.

"Imperfection is beauty; madness is genius; and it is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
-- Marilyn Monroe
